A sprawling open-air flea market under long crimson cloths stretched between pillars, which turn all the light red (S2). Row after row of stalls sell everything (spices, rare woods, bone trinkets, feathers, iron tools, clothes, food, flowers) in no particular order.

  • According to Zindar (S3), it is the unlicensed market (food, fish, clothes) that the princes don’t care about, so there are few princes’ guards.
  • No weapons or metal shields may be sold here (Ekene-Afa’s monopoly). No jewellers were found.
  • Notable stalls: Nala’s Loom; a bone carver who listens to voices; a jungle survival outfitter; a rain-catcher seller; a mapmaker (somewhere); a flower stall with long-stemmed roses (which marks the hatch to the Dye Works); a wooden-shield maker; farriers and cart-builders.
  • Its reputation for other services was mostly a joke of Zindar’s.
