At a glance
Post: gate guard at Fort Beluarian (a punishment posting) · Off shift in: three days, from Day 1 · First seen: S3
- Friendly and chatty. He can’t read but recognises beer labels by their pictures (“Fred, you need to be able to tell your lagers from your pilsners”).
- Never kicked the dog. That was a different Johnson. (Except that he later admitted to Elias he did: “I was so frustrated.”) He’d never kick a dog.
- Has been in love with Pickering since the day he joined. He likes Pickering’s “mighty fine nose.”
- Let “Ember” (Elias Bramblefoot) into the fort, gave directions to Blaze’s office, and warned him to knock.
- Told Kintergas about an old general who led undead legions through the jungle, possibly before his grandfather’s time, or possibly more recently.
Appointment: meeting “Ember” at the Thundering Lizard three days after Day 1, where he goes every night. Ember promised to help him win Pickering over.
