Who he is
“Call me Eli.” He answered Syndra Silvane’s summons a day before the others and went into Zaldara’s Lair with Nyx, whom he’d known for three minutes when she died. He says he’s been everywhere: Baldur’s Gate and beyond.
Mostly he’s what he looks like: a cheerful performer who drinks more than he earns and exaggerates his fame. He’s also an excellent liar, and the party’s best at getting into places it shouldn’t.
His instrument is a lute that becomes whatever he needs. In public it’s often the “Feender”: a white electric guitar with five dragon heads (Tiamat) whose eyes light up when he plays.
His notebook rates everyone he meets. Entries so far: Quill — dumb (upgraded to super smart after the Knock spell, then to ??? after the tea set), Elias — genius, Kintergas — favourite, and the Nala’s Loom shopkeeper — very rude. Kintergas once tore the page out; Elias rewrote it from the pen impressions.
Notable moments
- Faked delight in a trap cell to lure the others down (“The book we’re looking for is in here!”).
- Bridged the lightning pillars with Mage Hand and two swords until they blew.
- A natural 20 dagger throw killed a zombie in the dye works.
- Busked a crowd into ignoring a hatch (25 cp, 3 sp).
- Became “Ember”: talked his way past Fred Johnson by claiming Pickering kissed him, wore a cut-down Fist tabard, and walked Kito out of Blaze’s office.
- Spent the evening of Day 1 headlining the Thundering Lizard, up to his knees in brassieres. He hasn’t been seen since (Session 5).
