“It’s the sound you make when you wake up and you’re 50.”
Who he is
A broad, straightforward fighter who walks in front, takes the hits and won’t tell a lie: he left the Fort Beluarian infiltration to Elias rather than break his oath. He was a detective in the Waterdeep Watch and still reads rooms like one: Insight, trap checks, footprints. Something happened in a Waterdeep alley that was never put right, and in Session 5 it came back as a dream: his Watch badge rusting in his hand and a flaming gauntlet pressing him into the ground.
In Port Nyanzaru he wears an all-green local outfit over his chainmail. Having thought about how the city really works, he has decided his vow is aimed at the corruption feeding on it, not at gold.
Notable moments
- Pulled the stranger who became Quill into the party, and carried his pack for him.
- Ripped a century-old grate out of a sea-cave wall.
- Cut a coconut crab in half; landed a natural 20 on a specter; stabilised Elias (who wrote “Favourite” next to his name).
- Tore the insults page out of Elias’s notebook.
- Charmed the dim gate guards at Fort Beluarian with small talk.
- At the Shrine of Kubazan, saved a drowning man, got stabbed by him, and smote him to death with a punch. Later beheaded a fleeing archer.
